Who am i ....
Hi, it's nice to meet you. My name is Tanya and I am Hailey McNicol's mom- depending on the day LOL .
Over the past 25 years you may have seen or heard me at the track. I am loud, though not as loud as my Aunt (if you know you know). I can be a good loud and I can be a bad loud (again if you know you know).
I absolutely love being a cheer leader for Hails, and also helping with what ever I can. I have stepped into roles in all capacities over the years, hauler driver, pitcrew, PR, cook, you name it I have done it, except driver, I can't do that job- my road rage is too bad and I would wreck the entire field.
I grew up with a different kind of horsepower, the kind that's on 4 legs and eats hay, so when I entered the racing world in 1998 it was very unfamiliar to me. I had never even seen a race car before then. My weekends had been spent on horseback traveling the rodeo circuit in Ontario, my first race was at Varney and it was like entering a different world. While racing is a huge part of my life, horses will always be my first passion. I love rodeo, though I haven't competed in a few years, it's something that will always be part of me, whether is riding or judging professional rodeo (FYI, Hailey also is no stranger to rodeo and horses, for many years she did both and man that was a busy time !!)!!!
This year I have plans, I likely won't get to all of them but I have a lot of things on the list to check off and this blogging is one of them. I love writing and I used to love doing weekly updates and such on socials. I was always pretty professional with all of that but this is a blog right so I can cut loose with what I write- as long as it's the truth.... guess we'll see how it pans out once the season starts.
Anyway, I am super excited to hang out with you and tell the stories of this awesome and somewhat famous duo as they battle it out all over Ontario !
